Mbappe Magic Saves Real Madrid from a Celta Scare in LaLiga 2025

Real Madrid Players

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo was going to be a walk in the park for the dominant Madrid side in LaLiga. And so it appeared to be—until Celta Vigo woke up and decided to spice things up. But fear not, Kylian Mbappe was in superhero mode.

Arda Guler Opens the Show

Arda Guler, the 20-year-old Turkish wizard, thought it was his time in the limelight. With a pleasant short corner routine with Lucas Vazquez, Guler found just the right space between defenders and shot a lovely left-footed effort into the net. Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo registered its first goal—and spectators were already digging through the snack counter.

Mbappe Scores Not Once, But Twice

Then there was the Mbappe spectacle. Jude Bellingham first chipped a lovely ball over the top, and Mbappe did what Mbappe does—ran like a bullet and scored with his right foot. Piece of cake.

And then, only three minutes into the second half, Guler (yep, him again) played Mbappe a beautiful through ball. The French superstar scored once more. Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo was now 3-0, and everybody thought it was game over.

Celta Vigo Says “Not So Fast”

Wait, however! Celta Vigo evidently didn’t get the memo. In the 69th minute, out of nowhere, Javi Rodriguez scored a goal, and Real Madrid fans were sitting up tall.

Seven minutes into the second half, Williot Swedberg also scored. Two goals in less than 10 minutes, yes! Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo was now at 3-2, and a drowsy game had suddenly turned into something of an adventure.

Real Madrid Holds On (Just)

Blessedly for Madrid, they did not disintegrate. They held onto the lead as if it were the last slice of pizza. With this 3-2 win, Real Madrid is still just four points behind Barcelona in LaLiga.

And look at this? Next weekend, Real Madrid vs Barcelona. That’s right, folks, El Clasico is coming—and things just heated up.

Thoughts to End

Real Madrid v Celta Vigo could have been settled in three points for Madrid, but not without a bit of late drama in LaLiga. Thanks Mbappe for rescuing the day (and likely some coach’s job).
